The Walls Are Made of Glass - Thane

" I'm still the creator, you my mere creations. "

Has returned, for the time being anyway. Upon his return, has been sure to severe one of the last connections between him and one of his first creations. No longer dependent upon that creation's blood as an antidote to maintain a living body within the forest.

Likely to keep to himself, but who knows. Undetermined mental state, therefor unpredictable.

(ewhg god, i really need to finish the other layout. some information here is probably super inaccurate.)

He had frightened her, it had

He had frightened her, it had not went unknown. He would likely feel guilt later, and it would bury him alive. For now however, he would fume, and still feel every bit of disgust he had before. Once she darted off a snort would be given before turning to tend to his area.

I knew I smelled a hint of

I knew I smelled a hint of jealousy there.~
Poor Thane, though. ♥

Guess it was just several

Guess it was just several small things. Sticking out tongue Oh no, poor Miyako, haha. She really didn't deserve any of that.

The young doe may be

The young doe may be inexperienced in countless ways but there was something she had learnt as she had grown up. There were times when she had upset someone even though she had no intentions to do so. Lesson was learnt and she would always give the needed space to calm down to someone she had angered. This was what she had done with Thane as well. It was something she'd do for everyone's sake. The male had scared her quite badly the other day but believe it or not, she had seen worse with one of her dearest friends.

The young doe had been keeping her distance even though she might have been seen lurking somewhat near the male. That always happened when she had grown fond of someone. She was not able to fully let them be. She had to know they were okay.

Underneath her out-going cover she had been pondering proper ways to apologize. None of them seemed good enough. It had been his home she had tainted. She would never to such thing in purpose. But the mistake was made and now would be the time to try to make things right again. She wouldn't want to lose his friendship.

There was something in the male's presence and the way he was that fascinated her in many ways. One of the factors would be that he wasn't so easily cuddled. She respects his principles and does not want to cause any harm, mental or physical, to him.

The doe had been spending her afternoon near the Pond, still pondering how to apologize. No good ways came to her mind but it had to be done. She stood up stretching her legs and smelled the air trying to catch Thane's scent. She walked with her head held high trying to find the scent she was looking for. If she was a human, she would be walking on her toes. Finally. She caught it and started to follow it.

It didn't take long until she saw the male she was looking for in the distance. She stopped for a moment and took a deep breath. You can do it. He is not going to hurt you. Be a grown up and just apologize. It'll be fine. She kept repeating that in her mind. Slowly she approached the male, her heart raced in her chest again. She was already behind him. It was time.

"Thane?" She started. The tone of her voice was quiet as always. "I know I might be the last one you'd want to see, but it doesn't matter. There is just one thing I need to say and then I can go again." She paused for a while to take a deep breath before she continued. "I know you're upset and you have every right to be. I think I would be, too. I don't have a speech prepared for you or anything fancy.. I just wanted to say I'm sorry for what I did. I was honored to be invited to your home and I should have shown more respect to that. " She shook her head lightly so that the flower behind her ear would fall down to the ground and she would pick it up.

" Here." She gave it to the male hoping he would remember the value of that flower. It wasn't easy to give it away.

Had been going over the

Had been going over the incident yesterday, almost constantly until joined by Prussia. Little bugger was able to take his mind off of things, for a time. Today had been the same thing, retrieving him from a red bull so that his thoughts could be blunted. - Thane had not expected Miyako to come to him, readily prepared to deal with the loss, but then he would hear her, turning to catch her standing there. Drowning out his sorrows would have to wait now.

The stag would listen to her intently, nothing but the occasional ear flick. His gaze was unwavering as he stood there, legs locked in place, bolted to the ground it seemed, a statue. He would not respond immediately, no, and finally break from his hold when the doe dropped her flower then picked it up. Ears would fall to the back of his head... a step back was taken.

Thane didn't want her flower, the very flower he had put back behind her ear. He didn't know the significance of it, but wasn't oblivious to it having meant something to Miyako. A deep sigh would be given mixed in with a grunt, perhaps more overpowering than the sigh itself. "What is a flower without its petals...?", he questioned. It was rejection. He felt even more guilty than before, to have her trying to give him something of value. There was a greedy part of him that wanted to take it... but no.

"Don't apologize, Miyako". His gaze would trail off somewhere else, a faint muscle spasm or two in the process. He should have said it was his fault though couldn't bring himself to do so. Finally he'd look back to her with those color shifting eyes, soon placing himself to the ground, legs tucked in with skull tipped down. "Keep your flower. Sit, I will put it back on for you".

// And me fails. There should be a picture but it seems like it's not showing up. v___v Linked it instead.

Oh my, this was wonderful. (: She's such a sweetie.

Thankfully she had had to

Thankfully she had had to learn how to keep herself calm and not to start trembling all out of a sudden. She yet again managed to keep herself from trembling and getting overwhelmed. Rejection was something she hated, even more than being without physical contact. The last mentioned she could handle if needed.
Her ears pressed against her head. Didn't he want it? What was wrong with it? She had fought with herself hard before being able to give something as valuable as that to him and as she heard him not wanting it made her slightly irritated. "Nnhn." She was about to speak up about it but decided not to. Things were working out again so why mess with it?
No words were said by her, she didn't know what to say. She just sat down as she was told to and hid her tail between her legs with her ears still flattened to her head.

// Psh. She just felt bad for what happened.

Thane would retrieve the

Thane would retrieve the flower. It wasn't that he didn't like it, not at all. He would of loved to stash it away with his many other things, but would have felt bad taking such a thing from her. Alike her, he only wanted things to be okay again. Maybe accepting the flower would have been for the better, but in the back of his mind, better was returning to how things were before he blew up on her, flower included.

The stag would have captured the stem of the flower between his jaws, gently lifting it to a single ear of hers to tuck it away there. He would pull away thereafter.

"This was our home", he began, eyes drifting over the area, from the hyacinths patch, to the surrounding trees and finally the small field. His closest family members had all been here, but one by one all seemed to disappear on him. He would remember the spars with dad, the day Syahi revealed her pregnancy to him. Here. "My and my partners home, but she's gone now". There was no sadness hinted in his tone, maybe fighting it back, or maybe truly absent of being able to feel sadness. If anything his tone was bitter, laced with a certain coldness. The stag had only mentioned it to further build her knowledge on the area and why he demanded it be respected.

Eyes would fall back onto Miyako. "Can hear it?", he whispered, ears sprung forward. "Sometimes if you listen closely enough, you can hear old hoof steps". He wasn't talking about something paranormal, hardly, although it may have seemed he was. "They yell at me sometimes from the distance. Watching. They hate it when I let bad things happen here", a chuckle would be given, breathy and light as it were... not intending to present himself as creepy or off, but perhaps he had presented himself that way anyways. "Shh...".

She lowered her head just a

She lowered her head just a bit to make it easier for him to put it back there where it had been placed on her first day here. She kept her silence and looked around the area he called home and started to wonder to whom else it had once belonged to. For her there was no such place as home, her home was wherever she went and at the same it it was nowhere.
As he mentioned his partner being gone, the young doe glanced at him trying to see how he felt about the matter. If it had been her, she would have been sad, depressed maybe. He didn't seem too sad about it, though. "Sorry to hear that she's gone. It's never nice being left behind." Her gaze dropped to the ground whilst she spoke quietly. She understood now and would do her best not to disrespect the area again.
Miyako's ears twitched as she tried to listen as carefully as possible. She even closed her eyes to make her hearing better. "Hardly." She wasn't able to tell if it was the hoof beats of others from the distance or did she really hear the ones he was talking about. "What do they do when bad things happen here accidentally?" She was curious and eager to learn more but did not want to push him. She closed her eyes again and focused on listening.

Disregarded touching on her

Disregarded touching on her first comment. No point in lingering, or further having her feel 'sorry' for something she wasn't even apart of. This elicited a feeling of slight irritation, but kept it at bay.

Thane would watch as she tried to listen. Slightly disappointed when she said 'hardly'... she couldn't hear it? It was such a distinct sound, one of its own and not like the ones in the distance. Of course, he had never questioned if others could hear them or not, this was a first. Slightly baffled he'd cast his gaze back around the premises, ears swiveling and swaying to capture the hoof beats once more. Faded, already gone.

A gentle sigh pushed through, air pushing through the nasal cavity of his skull. Her question was a hard one to place. What did they do? Nothing outside of torment, no better than being plagued by nightmares. He let silence fall between them, pondering. "They cut your eyes out with something blunt". It was a stab at humor, trying to enlighten the mood, but who knew how well she'd deal with sick humor. A grin would have been given if capable of such to show he was only kidding around... or was he? There were times he wondered if such things could really become physical. Either way he would give a lighthearted chuckle.

"It was a generous offer, the flower... where is your friend?".

As Miyako aged it everything

As Miyako aged it everything was starting to clear up. Especially the fact that she did not have biological parents around here. She had also been left behind, or that is what she assumed.
A frown appeared upon her face as she still tried to hear the hoof beats he mentioned. Her eyes were still tightly closed. She was able to hear something but was not sure, the echo of the hoof beats was different from what she heard otherwise. Decided to let that subject be and later on see if she was able to hear them. When it was quieter.
She opened her eyes and let out a sigh before she shook her head to relax. Her neck and chest fur puffed briefly. After hearing the consequences of bad events in this area she observed the male for a moment in complete silence. "And then they feed you your own eyes?" Something made her believe that he was joking around and so she threw some gas in the fire and played along. Her expression was startled as she spoke but her devious yet playful grin gave her playfulness away.
"I assume by that you mean Neiro, right? I haven't seen him today. Don't know where he is, really. Why you even ask?" She was curious to know.

Had she mentioned she may of

Had she mentioned she may of heard them he would of believed her, and perhaps it would of cleared up a lot of the confusion he felt with her saying 'hardly'. Of course, that would of only indicated that she was trying too hard, or he messed with her head enough to make it true. The mind was such a powerful thing. Who knows, maybe she would of been able to hear what he heard. There would of been no argument. If one could hear or feel something, even if others generally could not, it was still very much real to the one experiencing it.

Thane would shift some, craning his head and looking down to the small doe before him. Eyes scanned the pretty flower he had replaced once more. When she played into the humor he could only shake his head. A laugh was held back which would have signified his pleasure, but even without it was most pleased. "Not just that", he began, eyes flashing wildly between color. "They morph into something flesh eating, eat away at your insides alive". A nod would be given. This was to clarify what he had said, yes... it must be true. This is totally what happened.

The stag had meant Neiro. Eyes rolled to the left, a serious of breathy puffs breaking passed the tip of his skull. "Oh... no reason, Miyako". His shoulders would rise then drop, head then resting to the ground. He had so many more things to say and question, but they were invasive, so would refrain from saying or questioning anything more.

She bit her tongue to prevent

She bit her tongue to prevent herself from laughing. Inside that innocent little doe was hidden another side of her. The one that was fascinated by danger and anything involving it in various levels. It was not another persona or anything; one factor in her early life had introduced her to danger, to violence and to blood. She did not seek it but the rushes of adrenaline was mind blowing and partly why she almost always ran to interfere a fight between her friend and someone. The bigger factor there was to get it to stop.
Still, her expression showed the disgust she felt as she thought about something eating her alive from the inside. Not pretty. Not at all. "I'd rather stay away from such things. They don't sound too nice." She shook her head again but this time to get that disgust away.
"You sure?" She lowered her head to catch his eye before she laid her head to the ground and rolled to lay on her back in a cat-like pose. "If there is something bothering you, don't hesitate to ask. I won't bite." She saw everything upside down and her ears were pressed against her forehead as she balanced on her back. Soon enough she lost her balance and rolled to lay on her side.

Watched her expressions,

Watched her expressions, scoping for the one to signal disgust. He could see her fighting back a laugh, but soon enough what he had been seeking came. The thought was disgusting, but that aside, it was the disgust and viewing it upon others - not only physically being able to witness an accident - that brought a sense of pleasure. Perhaps it was safe to say anything involving something gruesome, simply the visual imagery or real, was stamped with a heart. His only thought to her comment was, 'and yet she'd still be pretty, maimed or in good health, dead or alive'. That wasn't wrong, was it? She was now fascinating on more levels now than before.

Thane would catch her next question, would of answered but watched her roll to her back. What was this? Being cute... His eyes simply stayed plastered to her as she did this, and caught her next words to follow. Eyes trailed over her exposed belly, smoothly drifting over the delicate flesh there. He wanted to move closer. Already so close... so easy. It would of been so easy. It was again one of those times where one was met with a split second decision. He felt the urge to spring forward creeping at his hooves and up his legs, into his chest, overwhelming his entire body from there. The stag fought back a deep groan of irritation. He would not act on it, but it would... have been... so easy. The sensation that had overrun him before finally subsided. A deep breath was drawn in, harsh as it were and held before releasing it gently. Somewhere around that point the doe would have lost her balance. He didn't touch.

"Ah...", he said, head swimming, trying to concentrate on her question and statement before. Legs would more tightly be tucked beneath his form. Eyes would snap back to her face. "I don't like your friend, although that might change should he present to me something of value". It wasn't necessarily a threat, he wouldn't of went after Neiro at this time, had the buck fulfilled his wishes or not. "If not, I would prefer he stay away, far away, from my home. Don't bring him here". Was he being unreasonable? Very, especially to have brought this up to Miyako in the first place, as if leaving it to her to let it be known.

Part of the reasons for her

Part of the reasons for her odd actions, rolling to lay on her back, was being cute. But there was something that counted more; it was a test of trust and safety. She was swift and fast with her movements if needed so if he was about to harm her, she would have a chance to take off. Of course, there is always a possibility for him being even faster. She was willing to take the risk to see if she could really trust the male near him.
This time she was lucky. Nothing bad happened and she was pleased. Turning her back or resting underneath someone were two other tests she used but this was the ultimate test of trust. He passed. Miyako stood up and laid down tugging her legs tightly underneath him and curled her tail around her. She leaned against the tree beside her.
She listened carefully and snorted at the way he put emphasis on the word friend. For some reason most of her friends didn't like each other. Most of them were males and probably had the urge to keep her to themselves and not to share her with other males. "He is what he is. I believe in time he will give the proper respect to ones who deserve it, such as you." Her voice was gentle, not bitter in any way. If the situation had been turned upside down, Thane having doe sniffing around him and giving him affection, she most likely would not like the doe. She was growing fond of the male, even slightly possessive of. "I'll keep him away. Although, in my defence, I did not bring him here last time. Anyway, I'm sure he'll understand." She flashed a brief smile and winked at him.

Kept his head held to the

Kept his head held to the ground, looking to her, nothing more just looking. Soon enough he'd find his voice. "I don't wait for respect", and that was all there was to it. Not always, but with this specific case it was true. He wasn't going to wait for the others respect, it would either be given soon or the chance would be missed. Thane could live with or without the other anyways, so it was hardly a loss for him.

The stag was glad to know she didn't bring him there... but hinted a fib even if she was being truthful. He wouldn't question further on it, instead leave it be, for now giving her the benefit of the doubt. "Good...", was all he'd say thereafter, catching the smile and wink combo. Wasn't sure if he liked that. The sockets of his skull would dim for a moment, but soon restored of color. He would be daring, or try to be, and scoot the tip of his skull closer to her. If she wanted to touch she could. It would of offered little physical contact but it was something.

"You are here. Why not spend your time making better friends, hmm?".

She said nothing in response

She said nothing in response to his first statement. There was nothing left to say in that matter. Only things that would lead into a argument, a fight, something she didn't care for right now. Others had doubted Neiro's intentions when it came to her. She had been told that he is not good company for her and that she should stay away. Stubborn and curious as she was she wanted to figure Neiro out more to see if the others were right. She wasn't willing to admit that just yet.

As she noticed him scooting closer, she lifted her gaze up to him like asking if it was alright to touch him. Her observation lead her into conclusion that it was okay. She inched her muzzle a bit closer to the tip of his skull and gently rubbed it. The movement there was so subtle that it was difficult to even notice. She closed her eyes as she touched him. It felt nice, even if it wasn't much.

Making better friends? Who had said he wouldn't be a good friend for her. Even though their recent 'scuffle' had been negative, it did not make him less good friend. "I am here because I want to be here." She paused pondering if she would give him a little lick to his skull. She decided not to just because. "I'd rather have only a few good friends than a bunch of acquaintances. Besides, I like spending time with you, Thane." A chuckle escaped her mouth.

Despite offering the contact

Despite offering the contact wanted to pull away the second she touched there. While the rubbing was subtle he could feel it. - She wanted to be here? Hearing that felt nice, maybe too nice.

He wasn't used to such a thing anymore. Deer didn't just go seeking him out and want to stay, he had to go to them. He would when he felt like being more sociable, but only with a select few and that was growing scarce. He was enjoying time alone, in his home. Of course the occasional visitor was alright, if he liked them. Like with Miyako now, this was okay, but later he'd likely enjoy some alone time to slip into sorrow, let his mind be torn apart.

Thane's eyes softened, ears flicked now and again. He would catch her chuckle, but would not return one. "Is that so?", he questioned as if seeking clarification. "But for how long?". He wondered if it had ever occurred to her, his lack of company. There was Umay and Kody, some others, but aside from that... he wondered if it ever crossed her mind. - He wasn't a bad guy, but could be. Some had witnessed or fell victim to it. He didn't know when the others would find out, or if ever. Seclusion was sometimes best, being a recluse, to save them from himself. "Wouldn't you want friends there to protect you if need be?". He knew he wouldn't be able to do anything for her, other than offer himself as silent company, or chat once in a while. If she had been in danger what he desired most would override any motives to jump in and save her. Anyways, an injured Miyako could have proven very... delicious. Why was he even questioning this now? Trying to push the opportunity away?

Regret, he would fix it quickly.

"I am honored, Miyako. I want you here, and am glad when you come to see me. I like spending time with you too. I hope that you will continue to come see me".

Not long after she moved her

Not long after she moved her muzzle only an inch away from his, he could still feel her warmth radiating to his skull but she no longer touched him. Not that she didn't want to. Oh, how she'd love to climb up to his back and just rest there. Groom a little, rub her face against his neck. Remembering his words, she controlled herself and just laid there somewhat close to him. When she said she wants to be there was something she sincerely meant. The other day she was partly afraid of the possibility of him harming her in any way but she was more afraid of losing him over such thing.
Now that she was no longer a fawn, she rarely went to strangers just to rest with them and to fall asleep. She thought it would be weird. Inappropriate, maybe. As a fawn she went to almost anyone who seemed nice enough and clung to it to rest.
She gave him a nod in response for his first question, and a smile. Her deep blue eyes shining. She was content. "Let's just say that I am here as long as you let me be." It was true. She would leave him to get a drink or to let him be alone for a moment but she would return to him as long as he'd allow her to. Thane was not one of those from whom she'd need a reason to stay. Not yet. The young doe was not fully aware of his lack of company. Most of the times when she had seen him there had been someone with him, like today. That odd timid male.
"I'd rather have friends with whom I like spending time than just protectors. It's nice if friends can protect you but it's not necessary. It is about time for me to stand up for myself and fight my own battles. But first I'd practice fighting," She babbled on and on without noticing it and when she finally noticed it, a slight blush appeared upon her face. She hoped she wasn't boring him.
"Hnhh, you can be sure I'll come to you whenever possible. Get used to this face, mister. You'll be seeing it until you can't stand it anymore." She stuck her tongue out at him before getting serious again. "It's good to know my company is welcomed. Really good."

When she pulled away he would

When she pulled away he would lift his head, tilting it some to the side. Was it not enough for her?

As long as he would let her be there, huh? This brought on new feelings that surged through him. Jaws would faintly click as a shake of the head was given. When she proceeded and he heard it all, one thing particular caught his interest. Standing up for herself... a deep noise would push through, a mix of growling and gurgling. Satisfied. He hoped to see that, her standing up for herself. Didn't matter who the victor was. "I would help you with that, but wouldn't want to hurt this little flower". Eyes were locked on her, forever observing and admiring every facial expression.

Head would tip momentarily, every inch of him felt like static, but there was no signs of hair standing on end or quills rising. Mental, all psychological. Letting this consume him. Eyes rested on her once more, dazed. He would think to himself, 'If only I could grow tired of that face'. "Always, Miyako, always welcomed". Thane would lean closer, voice but a whisper. "Don't ever make me beg for it, dear".

It was enough for her. It it

It was enough for her. It it hadn't been she would have not been able to control herself. But she was able to control herself and that's why pulled away.
There had been times when she had had to stand her ground verbally when facing a tough situation but for now all her battles were fought for her. One time she had defend herself before someone interfering. One. Time. If she ever got lost outside this forest, she would be so very screwed. There is no predators in here like in the outside world. There she should be able to beat down every possible threat but how could she do that when she has no idea how to. "I'd like that. You don't have to worry about hurting this little flower. In order to get good, one must suffer at least a little bit." A shrug. She knew there was a chance of getting hurt if her practice opponent was a male who could get carried away.
She let out a brief giggle after hearing his first statement. At times she had been worried that she was a burden to him, someone he'd want to get rid off as fast as possible. "No need to beg for it. I wouldn't want to see you begging for it. It's not right."

He would chuckle, "No way to

He would chuckle, "No way to get better unless it is real". Of course he could give pointers, but he didn't want to. Another chuckle would be given at her last statement, a shake of the head to follow. She was brilliant in her own way. He didn't even have the words, would just leave it at being on two separate pages and move on. Shoulders would rock beneath loose flesh before rising to all fours and looking down to her. "You are rather small, Miyako", he commented, soon moving closer to his favorite tree. She could follow or stay where she was, it didn't matter. "Miyako, the brave flower". Ears would perk forward, back turned to the doe for now as he listened to the sounds of the forest, perhaps other things as well. "So you really want to learn?", he questioned, seeking a solid answer. He would of cautioned her but decided against it.

A mere two days of

A mere two days of acquaintanceship with the larger stag called by the name Thane, and the smaller red buck was captivated. Perhaps in a different way he often was. Thane seemed to pose no immediate danger to anyone, nor did he have traces of red anywhere on his coat, which was normally a supporting factor in his attraction to others. But there was something about the bongo. No telling what. It could have ranged anywhere from a glaring physical defect to a tiny personality trait, with him. There was just… something.

While the young buck had taken an immediate liking to Thane, the same might not have been said for his larger companion. To Prussia, it seemed Thane was a weary stag, with nothing better to do than guard his flowery territory all the time. He didn't seem to take kindly to rambunctious company. Especially after the red buck had recently proven to be too much, and was dealt fierce rejection. While an apology had been formed, the buck opted to compress some of his energy in an effort to make his company more bearable to the stag.

Still, the buck would not waste time in his present state of acceptance. Who knew when he could get on the stag's nerves again?
An uneventful day had found them resting near to one another on the floors of pressed flowers; Thane's territory. The buck had not dared to speak to Thane personally. Rarely ever did he open his mouth in the first place. But here he could not help himself.
So, pressed into the coat of a tolerant companion, the pale blue eyes wandered hesitantly up to the face above him, and a strained, feminine sound issued from behind a darkened mask.
"I... I call you Thane?"

It had been such a short time

It had been such a short time sine they had known each other. The stag had initially taken a liking to the small red buck, but then his personality really started to shine. Prancing around now and again with the one known as Prussia was not so bad, but the persistence he gave when trying to receive nuzzles was intense. How many times did one need to be rejected before they got the hint? Of course, Thane had already formed his opinion of the red forest goer, that being he wasn't the brightest crayon in the box. Still, the constant need for nuzzles was draining, and couldn't stop himself from bellowing and displaying his disapproval, temporarily banishing the buck from his territory and himself. After much thought and a brief nap however... was actually quite happy with his decision no matter how forced it seemed.

True, the stag had little else to do other than guard and tend to his home. Sometimes left but otherwise found himself frequenting the area much more often than when he first returned... and even more often than when Syahi had been around. Strange how things worked like that.

Now that all seemed to be on better terms between the two, didn't seem to mind Prussia snuggling up to him. Eyes were cast off towards the distance, scoping all around, for what was uncertain... perhaps just to keep a lookout for danger. Not that he would of done a single thing had danger presented itself. For himself, or his small companion. Retreating always seemed like the better option when in wake.

Thane would be caught off guard the buck spoke to him. For the first time since they had met. He had not imagined his voice to be how it was, but found it fitting for one of his stature all the same. The stag would look down to him, eyes smoothly shifting and rotating through various colors, vibrant against the hallowed out, pitch black sockets of his skull. "Yeah", he said with a rumble in his chest. A breath was drawn in and held for a moment, soon to release. He had been pondering some things even before now.... it was a good opportunity to touch on them. "Why so persistent?", a hum would follow. He would of likely blown up on Prussia had he tried to speak with him before his decision, but now the stag seemed to be okay with it, and was generally curious. "And rubbing, why not?".
Possessed's picture

Not the brightest crayon in

Not the brightest crayon in the box was indeed an understatement. It was known of the small buck that he lacked a number of vital instincts and insights which guided most on their paths to safety and wisdom. Instead, the buck neither openly hunted for said wisdom, nor welcomed it when it presented itself before him, even in the most conspicuous of manners. This was not necessarily stupidity, however. Rather, these were traits of foolishness. Indeed the buck did have some knowledge in regards to the creatures and places surrounding him, but they were rarely exercised and had become quite cobwebby over time, as he had often chosen to discard them. Perhaps that was why he cuddled so closely to the bull. Lack of instincts. Failure to acknowledge possible threats.

For some reason, it came as a surprise to the younger stag that he should have captured the bongo's attention at all. He was so unaccustomed to audibly voicing his thoughts or inquiries that, like a thought uttered in the privacy of the mind, he expected no response. As Thane spoke, curious ears pinned straight back on the top of a furry head, catching every word, twitching at every sharpened consonant. Upon peering into the ever-changing and bewildering eyes of his larger companion, the buck found himself spellbound. He hardly processed the words the stag spoke until they managed to rattle him.

"Most not mind it." The stag looked in mild confusion down at the crumpled flowers beneath his weight. "'Like you," he said at the dirt. "'Like you a lot. You..." a pause. "You... not like to be touched?"

Weird, the way his company

Weird, the way his company spoke. It would take him a minute to process what had even been said, eyes being cast to where the bucks rested, to see him peering at the crumpled flowers beneath his weight. Well... that was inevitable. Fortunately enough the hyacinths here were abundant. Couldn't save every flower... even if these particular ones were within his territory and would have preferred they stayed alive and well. A shrug rolled across his shoulders, ears swaying forward before eyes rested back upon his company.

So it was about that then... because he didn't particularly enjoy touch, or rather conditioned himself to not like touch because it brought nothing but closeness and therefor destruction, that gave the red buck the go ahead to reject him whenever he wanted something? Thane would shake his head, wanted to vigorously out of frustration but kept it quite smooth and mild. "You demand nuzzles constantly, I think I should be able to get something I want to". A snort was given, nonthreatening but definitely annoyed. "If not rubbing then by some other means, and I think you would prefer the rubbing, trust me". The stag felt so dominant over this lesser being... this... underdog. He was not nervous or jealous of it, actually, never minded what it did. This particular subject though, he wanted to reach an understanding which benefit them both in the end, and so there was no more complications. Through that... he forgot to even answer the bucks questions.

His company's irritation did

His company's irritation did not go unnoticed by the red buck. Not by any means. He heard it in the bongo's voice, saw it with the heavy roll of the bull's shoulders. Each movement was perceived and stored into his memory in case he should need to fetch it again. Body language was his most fluently spoken language, and therefore most heavily observed and well understood. So upon sensing this loathing from him, a pair of thin lips pulled into a frown beneath the black mask, and the buck rolled reluctantly to give the stag at least an inch's worth of space between them in an effort to make his company more tolerable for the larger bull.

The explanations the other gave were hardly explanations at all, and the buck struggled to find meaning through such an untrained mind. At every word spoken, his grimace intensified. Eventually the smaller creature was flinching, body tight with discomfort.
"Demand affection because you not give any," the words were spoken grudgingly. "Not to no one. Never see you nuzzle people. See you nod." The buck pondered carefully over his following words, reluctant to promise anything. "Not nuzzle so often if you nuzzle more." Another pause. "I not show affection as much for other people as I do for you. You are cold, stag. Not show any affection back." Ears pinned flat atop his head. "Don't understand why. Must not like people."

Gave another snort when his

Gave another snort when his company gave an incredible inches worth of space between them. Better than none at all, he supposed. Ears would flick. Secretly a grin was given, on the inside at least. Gaze would trail off somewhere else when the buck spoke, a sigh given once he was finished. Thane wouldn't look back to him just yet, for now sitting in silence, enjoying what little space kept them apart now... or maybe not. Complicated.

"But you always want nuzzles", at that point he'd draw his gaze back to the small red male. "An ocean made out of nuzzles probably wouldn't even satiate you". A chuckle was given. He wasn't even arguing, actually finding humor in this dispute, if one could even call it that. A dispute over nuzzles? Okay then. "I do show you affection, I have given you plenty tonight". He would think back on what he said prior... hmm. Ears fell to the back of his head momentarily, but didn't stay like that long, quickly perked forward once more. "I don't...", he stated, though it was so loose and lacked anything to back it up, it wasn't just about hating others... but the stag wasn't going to say anything more on it, didn't feel like further complicating things or getting into a conversation about it.

Thane would sigh deeply, further thinking on the red bucks words. Attention would be grabbed once more by the space set between them. It didn't take long before he closed it, letting his head rest over his company, had the male even allowed it. "I don't intend to deprive you of attention anymore anyways", he said honestly. It was to protect his own sanity as well. The way they had been going would have resulted in total mental deterioration over time. The constant tug and pull of the relationship was tiring. It was better this way, to just give... although problems were still bound to spring up sooner or later. Hopefully the buck would avoid doing anything crazy whilst he slept. "I still want something in return", he'd whisper.

An ocean made out of

An ocean made out of nuzzles... yes, Thane was right. The younger buck was too proud to admit it, but not even that would satisfy him. To be honest though, the sound was appealing. An ocean of nuzzles. Beyond anything else, the buck thirsted for affection. Pitiful as it were, often he was willing to jeopardize his own wellbeing if it meant gaining a window of another's time in which he could lie close to them. Love was a treasure long ago lost from him. His fight to relocate it seemed endless. Endless as an ocean, yes.

Another frown found the grouchy features, and the black skull issued a huffy scoff. In many ways, this bull aggravated him as much as he aggravated the bull. But then, of course, he was sensitive to every single word, and took offense sometimes just to get attention from it. Nonetheless, fangs crushed and creaked together on the black skull in what was genuine irritation, if only for a minute or two. He couldn’t understand why it was so bad to crave physical warmth. After all, it was in every creature’s nature, no?
"Like nuzzling," he admitted guiltily, fur puffing up in his defense. "Like to touch." The buck neglected to give reasons why. It was a topic he detested, and one he would skillfully avoid. Especially with this bull.

A naive sense of hope flooded the stag upon hearing Thane declare he would not deny him any longer. Thane furthered this sense of hope by eliminating the small space the red buck had been able to force between them. Then the bull rested a heavy ivory skull over a wild wave of bright red fur, and the little buck shuddered in surprise. This was certainly satisfying.

He pondered over the other's last, softly spoken murmurs. Pretty soon he was meditating. Red flags lay beyond the horizon, but he suppressed these also and dared to devour the meaning of the bull's curious words.
"Something in return," he echoed thoughtfully. "Depends on what is."

Shook away their first

Shook away their first conversation, not even giving it the time of day to breathe once more. It would diminish, fade away to some dark corner to rot from their memories. When the buck puffed up it was rather adorable, but that too would be disregarded other than a deep growl-like noise spilling from the tip of his skull. It wasn't a threatening noise, although maybe it sounded that way to his company.

Muscles would begin to lockup when the buck touched on his previous statement. Head would draw back and roll to the left, eyes narrowed in on the small red buck. He would say nothing for a few moments, simply stare, engulfing him within view. Finally, once ears flared forward he would respond. "Do you know what it's like to feel a flame creeping at your hooves?". At first his voice was soft, though it would grow eager as he went on. "To feel that sting, that bittersweet burn like a thousand needles eating away at your body? Lets do that". The stag sounded very serious about this being what he wanted in exchange, and would leave it at that for some time. Chirping birds, cracking wood, their breathing. Maybe distant hoof steps could be heard. Eyes scoped his face for an expression, preferably that of terror. Thane wouldn't let this last though, a manic laugh would break through. "Nah, just kidding!", that laughter would fall to a mere chuckle before completely drowning out. "If not rubbing than you'd best be letting me piss on you. One or the other, darling".

Possessed's picture

First there was a low sound.

First there was a low sound. It was indistinguishable to the younger buck, and therefore he had difficulty labeling it. Eventually he came to the conclusion that it was a growl, for afterwards, the stag proceeded to claim his half of their deal: what he would want in return for nuzzles. At first Prussia took him seriously. But as Thane went on, he grew suspicious. Eventually skeptical eyes were peering inconspicuously up at his larger companion, inspecting every feature of an empty ivory mask in hopes it might make the bull's words clearer to him.

Certainly, this was a side he had not seen of the bull, but it didn't entirely terrify him. All Thane's words managed to accomplish was puffing up the little red buck more and invoking a vaguely disturbed grimace upon his face beneath the dyed skull. He mulled over Thane's proposal for a minute. Pain. That was what Thane was describing. The smaller buck's opinion of Thane shifted. Not badly, like it perhaps should have. What Thane described made the tiny red form shudder. Currents of excitement coursed through him, despite knowing too well they shouldn't be there in the first place. He made up his mind to conceal it from the stag, and forced a frightened expression in the pale blue eyes, just to convince him that he wasn't a fool, that he did know to fear Thane's words.

When the just kidding came along, the buck made a show of respiring, and settled back into the larger stag's soft coat.
Thane's true proposal truly did gross him out, and the buck gave an audible scoff of disgust. "Rude," he scolded. "Rude thing to think." The buck rolled pale blue eyes. "Don't like it. Don't like being marked. Lot of people try. Turn them all down." Here the buck fixed his larger companion with scrutinizing eyes. "I'm not yours," he informed him, and then looked down at the soil again. "Not belong to people. Not need to be marked like a tree, like territory."

Would watch every movement

Would watch every movement that the buck made, and while expressions may of not been visible, would take note of his tone and selection of words, as well as what he could see, those pale blue eyes. He could tell his small companion had taken his first suggestion for an exchange seriously, which elicited from the stag another bout of laughter.

Once the small red deer settled back into him and spoke, a silent snort was sounded. This one was brave, to even put their relationship in jeopardy over such a thing. While before he had humored the buck on the topic, now it was taken more seriously. Thane would sway his ears forward, tucking his legs in a little tighter, though was likely to get up and leave despite that. He was trying to keep himself in place for as long as possible.

"Silly thing", the stag would begin, would of waved a hand if able. "You think my attention comes free of charge? No. Either I get something or I will get up and walk away from you. It is not hurting me in the least to have you in my presence or not. I don't need you, and if showering you with attention brings me nothing in return, than you are not worth my time". It was partially true, and yet not... he was being incredibly unreasonable over it. This particular case and what he had said made sense to him however, seeing as how the need for attention felt forced, rather than letting him give it when he felt ready, or on his own terms. So feeling to have made a forced decision earlier, and now getting nothing in return other than affection he could of otherwise lived without, was beginning to consider this relationship a lost cause. Of course he could of requested something else, but couldn't think of anything more valuable than possessing the buck himself, even if this form of 'possession' wasn't exactly as it may have seemed.

Thane would shake his head with a scoff. "I don't even want you to be mine". He would of returned an eye roll but that wasn't really his thing. "Just because I rub or piss on you doesn't mean you are mine". It must of seemed that way... and he understood it, since 'scent marking' was often a sign of possession. To him, perhaps it was only about getting something in return that the buck himself didn't even like. In Thane's case, he didn't want the nuzzles to begin with, in Prussia's case, he would be giving him scent marking liberties even though he didn't want it.

The stag would finally rise with a vigorous shake of his head. "Your choice, 'cause hey... I'm ready to go find better things to do". His tone was level, neither mad or blunt. It wasn't happy either... simply level.
Possessed's picture

It had appeared at first that

It had appeared at first that his judgment of the stag was unchangeable, unmovable. The red buck liked Thane. There was no doubt about it. Well, not then, at least. Now he was doubting, seriously doubting. The little red buck's uneasiness intensified greatly, became physically evident, even if he tried to veil it. Pale eyes fixed in concern down at his hooves and refused to uproot themselves. Lips were a tight line. Muscles were strained with discomfort. After hailing the bull in such high opinion for a good few days, it shocked him, hurt him perhaps, that Thane could so easily stand and abandon. It troubled him deeply. Prussia was not opposed to physical danger, no, but to emotional danger, yes. To betrayal, to abandonment. A sensitive creature, the red buck considered this abandonment enough, but hadn't plunged too deeply into their relationship yet to quite feel the effects of it.

So after carefully listening to every word, and letting a long delay slip by, the buck finally opened his mouth to let unsteady words flow in a slightly insecure tone. "Didn't expect it to be free," he insisted slowly, frowning. "Thought would not rub anymore. No nuzzles. Not have to make deal. No marking, no nuzzles."

And here the injured thing hurried up on bony legs again and cast his larger companion an offended glare. Notoriously proud and stubborn, there was simply no mending the situation, not in his mind. There was either do or don't. This felt like don't, given Thane's blunt words. To an unforgiving mind, it felt like pure rejection.
"Not worth your time, like you said. Don't want to be yours either. Better things to do, better people to be with." And just like that, without arguing, without pushing the bull further, the buck was prepared to take his leave. Seek out solace, solidify his opinion of Thane.

Wanted to give the biggest

Wanted to give the biggest sigh ever. His neck would crane, head would roll back some. This was so pointless and not worth his time. - Like the small red buck, he too could endure physical pain, but emotional pain was an entirely different thing. He had underwent both before, here and in the human world, and while the emotional pain could weight heavy, and knew that, somehow managed to mess with others heads and cause them mental distress. He felt for them deeply, and would often go off alone to ponder the damage he had inflicted, which damaged him as well. In the moment however, he could hardly process his own wrongdoing, and would immediately think the buck was being melodramatic... it wouldn't be until later that he'd fully be able to process what the young buck had said.

Thane would say nothing more, couldn't even believe that small deer Prussia would last long before caving in and demanding yet more attention and affection. So when he proceeded to basically echo what he had said towards the end, would give a deep snort followed by a harsh hoof stomp the ground. He thought about bellowing to further try and scare him off, but decided against it. An ear flick would be given before turning and trotting off towards home, abandoning the buck, leaving him to run off and go do whatever it was that he'd do. Once everything settled in... maybe he would go find him and see how he was doing, but at this very moment figured he'd never see the male again.

"Grew frustrated with Grim

"Grew frustrated with Grim once more when he would not return his bows."

Just fyi I never actually saw him bow to Grim |D; and haven't over the last couple days when he's been with Thane either. He's usually spot-walking for me like 50% of the time so I almost never see when he emotes, sorry about that. ;; Grim would have bowed back would he have seen it (aka if I had seen it) 100% for sure, if that helps at all.

I would probably consider that an OOC flaw on my part since I couldn't see his emotes, if that changes anything at all. You're safe to assume, if you'd like, that Grim did bow to him those past times since like I said he definitely would have if I'd seen it. Your call though xD just wanted to let you know. ♥

Oh gotcha. Yeah knowing that

Oh gotcha. Yeah knowing that probably would of majorly altered his attitude towards Grim. It had happened a few times so by that point assumed it was IC. Just a misunderstanding. (;

We can do whatever. As it stands now his view of Grim isn't so bad. Easily repairable, although since you mention it now, it would also be an error on my end, since again I thought it was IC.

They could go back to being friends with no problems thus far, lol. Doesn't matter to me.
