“I’m sorry,” , The small feathered doe’s feathers had fallen back in shame of her own, when she’d not immediately understood what Krystal was looking for, perhaps not really realizing that the rabbit deer had known Eraline too. Seemed the green doe had touched many lives. So with an apology on her lips, lead the other to the solemn spot. She was not the only one to regularly leave flowers and tidy the general area. “Hard to believe it’s been a year now,” she murmured softly.

Herla nodded to the other female, dipping her head in respect. “Perhaps not as well as some, but better as she grew older, and became my son’s mate. A lost daughter now,” she smiled fleetingly for a moment, turning to push a wayward flower with the tip of her dainty blue hoof. Turning her gaze back to the other doe, she regarded her with ruby eyes, “You? “ she asked, her expression open and interested.

Herla could sense the easing of tension in the other’s frame and how she brightened when she spoke of her happier memories of the green doe, it made Herla smile more readily too. A grave site could be an awkward place but better when it was filled with the light of happy memories. The feathered does ears had lifted in interest at Eraline’s past, something that Herla had not known about her. Once again she was saddened to have only gotten to know her in her later life which had become far shorter than anyone would have ever guessed, “I’m sure Ciel would like to talk to you then too really. He still carries Era’s pendants in his antlers,” she frowned momentarily, Eraline’s death had been immensely hard on her son and the feathered doe still watched him carefully when he would linger too often at this resting spot. “Eraline was lucky to have all of you,” it was very often that she saw JM and Henna visit this site too, ”Please feel free to visit this place anytime, you’re always welcome,” she felt obligated to offer, less the other think she was not allowed somehow.

“It was and still is very hard on him, yes,” she frowned nodding her head, “He’s been better now though and I think being able to meet others that knew Eraline may be nice for him?” she hoped at least. “What was Eraline like as child?” she wanted to know, not for the first time she lamented not having been a stronger part of Era’s life early on. Perhaps some certain heart aches could have been avoided. Perhaps not. Herla held her tongue though. It was in the past now and what was, was. “I have to admit, we butt heads a few times, early on, she was very strong willed, overly bold maybe,” she said, her tone light though, tinged with fondness. “I like to think we ultimately came to an understanding and respect for each other’s natures.”

Herla hoped it wouldn’t open old wounds either, “He has a new mate now, something I was glad to see, he was not well for a long time when Eraline was lost,” not that Herla blamed him, how devastated she would she be if she ever lost Gehirn? She shuddered to even think about it, the close ties of family were there to support them all through the toughest times though, whatever they might bring.

Herla couldn’t help but smile as Krystal reminisced. “Ah, I can see that then,” she nodded, Henna definitely on Herla’s list of ‘fiesty’ does. It offered new insight into why Eraline was the way she was, “I scolded her a few times for trying to fight stags,” she admitted laughing, Herla has pretty strict opinions on how does where to behave, “I know she had a lot of pride though. And love.”
