Hoofsteps sound in the ghastly quiet of the forest, eloquent as a master poet weaving lines 'tween the breadth of the trees. They are, one would notice, nothing short of petite; tap shoes bestowed upon a mishap orphan child who takes pride in the rhythm they provide. Such a beat carries the little girl towards a peculiar mass upon an outcropping of rocks. Shell-shaped ears swivel while her head makes a precise tilt, thinking? No, knowing.
The two beings are facing one another, grim reflections in their sickly black oil and haunting innards. The same two also share a rather devious expression, tearing thin lips into a curl- that of the cheshire grin, though the girl's wide white eyes focus unblinkingly upon the parasite, where his are hard to be seen. Her hoofbeats have faded, drawn to a halt as the slow-dance takes her place. She stops because his have too- at least, that's how Pandora understands it. The waltz is over- take a seat, Akuji.
"Koo-ji, Koo-ji," she coos, the sound of an endless song lilting within the breaks of her infantile voice,
"Pan warned you, Koo-ji." The black fawn's disposition alters with the fleet of a hummingbird's wing, and though the smile remains pulled, those stunning white eyes narrow into a twisted savagery that the cradle killer would know well.
"You will see, come the time. Your eyes will alight, and then you will be swallowed by darkness. And you will never see again."
A light giggle, fragile wings rustle. She does not wait for the creature to respond- as though she is unaware she'd just spoken.
"Pan can keep secrets. But Pan knows, she knows!" Her smile curves treacherously again, tearing off the naivete and burning it alive.
"I know how it feels to peel flesh from bone and savour the screams that echo around one as the butcher." She does a disgustingly adorable jig, then, another raucous giggle escaping her, emaciated limbs making practiced skips and stretches, a true craftsman of dance and song.
Then, her head snaps up one final time, emotionless white eyes boring into the demon's false face, mouth a flat line but for the moving lips,
"So when each has had their fill of you, and your sight you cannot find,
I will come to you, Akuji, and slaughter what is blind."
With an elegant pivot upon cute little hooves, the fawn beguiles the winds and the grasses once more in her off-kilter dance, a lullaby seeping from ancient lips, while the laugh of a deviant can be heard beneath the breath of the gorgeous music. Pandora is gone.
She promises to reap the fate which he has sown.
[Written by Pandoras]
A timeless and forgotten place,
The moon and sun in endless chase.
Each in quiet surrender,
While the other reigns the sky.
Quietly, she sauntered through the undergrowth of the First Forest, the darkness cloaking her. Insects and small animals alike scattered as her feet pulled her onwards to her destination; each
pat pat of her movement was decisive, her resolve absolute.
Finally, she stopped as she reached the all-too familiar sight of longer, sandy grasslands. She had finally reached the Birch. Using her tail as leverage, she rose onto her hind legs, her head tossing upwards, searching for a trace...
She found it.
The midnight hour begins to laugh,
A summer evening's epitaph.
The winds are getting crazy,
As the storm begins to rise.
Her eyes narrowed as thoughts drifted in and out of her mind; it was still hard to fathom that almost a year had passed since that day. The bare part of skin that was her scar rippled at the remembrance of
his touch; the remembrance of his jaws crushing her, pinning her. The remembrance of his hooves crashing down upon her, the sickening sound of bones snapping,
breaking. Even further along, her mind raced, fast forwarded to mere moments before...
The fawns...they're dead.
She snarled, her front feet crashing down onto the ground. Her face, still contorted, smoothed out, becoming a beautiful, yet wicked
smile.
You're paying for this shit, big time.
Wild were the winds that came,
In the thunder and the rain.
Nothing ever could contain,
The rising of the storm.
In the longer grass, she was but a part of the landscape, her light sandy brown coat blending her into the surroundings. Not that it mattered in the end; he wouldn't run. He wasn't like the others she chased and tore apart; he knew her well.
Too well, in fact. Only another reason to add on to the list of why he should no longer be allowed to
exist.
She heard him, smelled him, before she even saw him. The sound of
tar skating across rock, the scent of
death, and something else she couldn't quite pin down. And finally, she saw him.
You look a bit different.
His appearance had evolved every time she saw him; what was once something akin to a rainbow was then carrying the appearance of dried
blood. The only thing that wasn't in constant motion was his skull and antlers, still just as she remembered last. She held him fast in her eyes, just as he was holding her with his. She could
feel the smile on his lips, her scar rippling again.
I told you once before: you're past your prime. You have a lot to atone for, not that you care in the slightest. No matter.
That malicious smirk formed again, her canines visible in the light of the Moon. Her left eye became a smokey gray, betraying the anger - the
adrenaline - that was bubbling just underneath her skin, boiling her blood, making her veins swell.
You owe me, besides.
A sharp, coughing bark erupted from her mouth as her body hunkered down, battle ready. The adrenaline raced through her faster, her body shaking from the near
euphoria she was feeling.
Let's dance, Akuji.
In the wings of ebony,
Darkened waves fill the trees.
Wild winds of warning,
Echo through the air.
She raced towards him, watching him carefully as he braced himself for impact. But instead of attacking head on, she swerved to the side, momentarily catching him off guard. She rammed him as hard as she could, attempting to knock him down. But a stray leg shot out from his form, bracing him, and breaking his fall. She growled lowly, as a small laugh seemed to bubble from his throat.
Another section of his body shot out towards her; she barely managed to dodge it, only to have it loop back around and seize her back leg. Before she had time to react, he had thrown her, knocking the wind out of her lungs for a few moments, the ink black that was her blood spurting out from her jaws. When she finally caught her breath, she stood, her eyes
murderous. However, a small chuckle wormed its way from her jaws; if he had eyes, he would have cocked an eyebrow.
This won't be like last time.
Follow the storm,
Now I've got to get out of here.
Follow the storm,
As you take to the sky.
Again, tendrils reached out for her, challenging her; but as opposed to running from them, she held her ground, another blood-filled cough escaping her as the impact occurred. The pressure to her chest was immense, but that didn't stop her from clamping down, nearly letting go at the god
awful taste that was searing her tongue. But she held strong, and continued to, even as he pulled back, dragging her towards him. When she felt she was within range, she let go, meeting him head on, his throat now in her grasp. A growl began to work its way from his mouth, only to be silenced as she whipped her head back and forth, attempting to rip something,
anything from him. With a roar, a tendril struck her in the chest again, throwing her back.
But she had a considerable chunk of him still in her mouth. He staggered as she spat it out, wheezing violently.
You still taste like shit. She finally sputtered.
Follow the storm,
Now it's all so crystal clear.
Follow the storm,
As the storm begins to rise.
She charged him, and he charged her. Barely managing to avoid getting hit, she dove underneath him, her teeth securing his stomach. Putting as much power into her back legs as possible, she leapt upwards, though he braced himself again. In sheer anger, she curled her body so that her back legs were against him, and she pushed away, taking out a portion of his underside with her. But before she had time to get up, he had charged her, ramming her mercilessly with his tines and slamming her body into a rock. His antlers held her there as she struggled so
violently; her feral instincts had kicked in. It was life or death for her now. He pressed her harder into the surface, as if he was trying to make her one with it. Her howl was loud,
furious, as near gleeful laughter answered her.
With a victorious snort, he tossed her, and she yelped as her back collided with a tree. Trembling from the impact, she somehow found the strength to stand. She knew she had to end the fight as soon as possible.
He was charging her again. As opposed to before, she ran from him, jumping from rock to rock as she did so. She could hear his taunting laughter, as if she was playing the coward. It would only be for a little while though.
She seems to come from everywhere,
Welcome to the Dragon's lair.
Fingers running through your hair,
She asks you out to play.
She dove into the long grass, the only hint of her movement being the sways as her body struck each individual stalk. Tendrils chased her down, her just barely outrunning and outmaneuvering them. One made a move to strike her, and she stopped instantly as it impacted the ground just in front of her.
From his point of view, it appeared that he had manged to hit her. The lack of quivering grass was promising; it wasn't until he caught a flurry of movement racing towards him that he realized her trick. Roaring again, he tried to keep her back but to no avail. She sidestepped and dodged, and it wasn't until she had leapt onto a rock next to him, and ricocheted off of it after him that he realized what was to occur. Her jaws found themselves locked onto the back of his neck, and with as much force of the jump that she had left, she threw him to the ground at last.
Both creatures were breathing heavily, the exhaustion finally taking its toll. She kept her distance from him, however; he certainly wasn't dead, and anything could happen. Surveying the damage she had done to him, she spat on the ground, releasing any stray fragments of him that had remained in her mouth.
There was no doubt in her mind that he could possibly regenerate and strike again. But it wasn't just
her fight. No, it was
everyone's fight. There was that smirk again, as she turned in preparation to leave, watching him out of the corner of her eye.
I think I'll leave it at that. I know there are many others who'd like a piece of you. My part of this is over now. It's up to the rest of them to help close this story - once and for all. You won't escape Death this time, I promise you that.
And with that, she staggered off into the brush, leaving him there without a backwards glance. She didn't need, nor want, to look at him again. In that moment, she wanted nothing more than a soothing drink of water, and plenty of sleep.
In all of nature's sorcery,
The most bewitching entity.
Hell can have no fury,
Like the rising of the storm.

It was with silent steps the
She had - for various reasons - been sidetracked from the task since she first heard of this threat, but she had still tried to keep an extra careful eye on every single fawn she spotted, as if that was enough to keep it out of harm's way. But finally, she had been able to figure out what - or rather who - this threat was. And soon she saw him. His back was turned toward her, as he lay among the tall grass. His black body seemed small, as it had 'melted' across the surface of the ground. Illrose had met and fought Akuji several times before, but never had she had a stronger desire to kill him than she had now. Not even when he had possessed several of her friends and family members, and she could do only but watch as they were being tormented.
Illrose stopped at a distance, her body already bruised and torn from recent fights, and there was a limp in her steps as she walked. But that didn't matter. Even though she knew she was too weak to kill Akuji on her own, she would weaken him with the last strength she had left. She knew others were after him as well, and sooner or later, one of them would get him - she was sure of that. There was something dangerously calm about her as she stood there, her eyes resting on the demon, until he finally seemed to notice her presence. His head turned, and their eyes locked into each other. His form seemed to grow as he rose from the ground, and four limbs seemed to take form from the blackness. Illrose waited only a moment before she lowered her head and charged at him. Words were not needed, they both knew why she had come.
