Does Anyone Remember Aro'kai?

Aro'kai or Arokai was supposed to be a a vast and expansive social role-playing game well within the era of Impressive Title, Feral Heart and even The Endless Forest.

I never knew what happened to it but at some point it came to a complete stop and there was an apparent falling out many, many years ago. I wouldn't mind anyone sharing any more information they might have as to what happened to it if they remember. It brought a lot of artists and creators together, very wistfull in hoping for the magical game that never came to be unfortunately.

But it makes me ever more glad that games such as The Endless Forest remain immortal to time.

A'K was a very special time

A'K was a very special time in my life. Its not particularly sadness that I look back on it with but like, a melancholy. I hope superfeesh is okay, and a lot of the stories and drama that I know could fill whole pages of text and I wasn't even one of the team.
I hope a game similar one day comes out that works.

I did end up coming to TEF because of A'K though, as I 'mained' a deer on aro'kai and some player came into the stream like 'I'm going to bring my big bad deer from TEF here and beat up every other deer player in A'K hahaha im so cool' and I was like, bet. So I brought my big bad from A'K to TEF as a sphinx.

As someone that was involved

As someone that was involved with the dev of A'K (Shusuke here! hello), I can say development stopped on A'K for a lot of factors, from scope being very large for the talent pool we had to lack of free time and a lot of other things (that I personally would rather not revisit). At the end of the day A'K was like many games that had potential but wound up falling through by various means. It's not out of the ordinary, it's just a time people got to witness it.

I can't speak for everyone that worked on Arokai but it'd be great if focus on discussion of it could be in the talent and the projects that it inspired instead of rumors or whatever speculation about it was going on.

As the primary person around

As the primary person around whom the rumors circulated (Kahara, deadname now please use Vaynrat or my user here, Veldritch), I'd appreciate that while discussing Arokai the topic itself is the talented creators and what beautiful projects were inspired by AK; not about continuing rumors or speculation for which no one but a hand of people can even say they were truly involved in. ^^'

For myself, Arokai inspired a small roleplay between some friends of mine that's been on-going. I know there's been a few small game projects that over the years mentioned AK, though idk if they want the association so I'll leave them unnamed lol

AK was huge in my life tho, definitely made me a better roleplayer! I miss the Sorrerø group forum roleplays. A looooot.
