A Question?

Ok everyone, I have a question for you.

Today I saw the new Snow White and the Huntsman movie. And that stag in the movie is the most gorgeous thing. Would it be a bad thing for me to use that design in a new character? A large white stag with antlers that are branches of a tree?

I'm just curious because I wouldn't want to upset anyone or to be called a 'stealer' of the design.

Andante's Leave

So Andante took a leave from the forest starting last Friday and just arrived this evening. He went in search of some secrets from his past and to discover what really left him alone. So he's back now! ^-^

Mother? Is that you?

Andante burst awake, ears erect and he leapt to his feet from where he had been laying beside Myszka. The young stag took a deep breath before taking in his surroundings and something caught his eye.

Andante had been severely ill the past few days from deprivation of sleep. His eyes had caught a shape on the top of a nearby hill. It was......glowing? As his eyes adjusted to the lack of light a similar figure stood before him. The shape of his mother.

He stared, not moving a muscle as he contemplated what to do. He knew that his mother had been lost from him long ago. In his human life.

Suddenly the shape of his mother turned and started to move away from him, towards the ruins and Andante called softly "Mother? Wait, don't go!"" Andante leapt over Myszka's body and moved as quick as he possibly could, following the white shape. "Wait!.......Wait....wait..." Soon he grew to tired to walk any longer and he took a seat next to a birch tree.

Ahead of him was the ruins and he could see the doe moving towards his favorite gravestone. Leaning her head down. Rubbing her cheek along the stone and then kissing it. The glowing doe turned to look at him once before vanishing as quick as she had appeared. "Goodbye, my little one."

"Bye Mom..." andante whispered as he stared for a few more seconds before turning and starting his trek back to his friend's side. This forest had proved to be more magical then he ever knew.

Fear The Depths

Andante stared, his heart racing as he stood before the large pond, right next to the edge. He leaned down to take a sip and then took a deep breath.

'You can't let this control you anymore. Conquer your fear.'

Andante picked up one front hoof and touched it to the surface of the water but a memory overcame his eyes. The day he almost drowned. The day his life was almost ended.

He was out int he shallows, unaware there was a drop off not far in front of him. He didn't know that the fish were farther away then they looked. That he couldn't get that close.

And he slipped right over the drop off. His front hooves slipped right forward, plunging him into the black depths and he started sinking, like a rock. He flipped over and saw light filtering through the water above him, the surface. Flailing himself around got him close to no where. As he hit the bottom, he planted himself on the bottom and pushed upwards, towards the surface.

The momentum sent him upwards and gasping to the surface where he clung to the cliff-like sides on the deep side of the pond. Finally he was able to move himself ot the shallow end, where he stumbled out of the water, a soaking wet, shivering, mess. The small fawn collapsed not far from the pond, curling up and letting the tears spill over.

Andante leapt backwards as the memory faded, letting his fur on his spine settle back down as a sigh escaped his mouth.

'Not today...... Not today...'

Andante turned and walked back to his tree-home, curling up neath the roots and falling into a sleep as the fireflies started to come whisking from there hiding places.

Is That Music[Andante] I Hear?

Under the cut, Bio of Andante ^-^
Sensory's picture

I Am Normal. Right?

A bird singing.

The river trickling down some stones.

Others talking.

So. Much. Noise.

Andante groaned aloud and lay against a birch as he attempted to cover his ears with his legs. To no avail.

"God can't everyone just be quiet? For a mere couple of seconds?" The fawn grumbled to himself.

It wasn't like everything was an annoying sound since everything was transformed to music in his head so around him, a symphony was going on. To a certain extent though, it bothered him.

'Why do I have to be different? Why is no one else like me. No one will accept me, even the other fawns. For I am driven away by their mothers.'

Thoughts screamed through his head as he placed his head upon the damp, mossy ground. Andante closed his eyes as tightly as he could, letting the wind buffet at his short grey fur.

A tear slid down his cheek but the very young stag shook it off and got to his feet once again, beginning his annual wandering of the day. Perhaps to the ruins to sit among the gravestones.

'You have to stick up for yourself Andante. Do not let them separate you for your uniqueness. They simply do not understand. You will make friends. And they will love you for who you are.'

Thinking to himself let a calmness overcome him. The fawn moved slowly through the forest as rain started to pitter-patter over the forest floor. Keys on a piano in his head.

Finally, a smile graced his face. For the first time in a long while, he seemed at peace. The fawn picked up to a steady trot, trotting to a soft beat within his conscious.

'You are normal.
