A tale of one doe's journey into the forest.

Had spent the day in the warm sun, enjoying the peace and quiet, along with a severe lack of others around to be watching out for. It was a rare occurrence and she was quite content until something enormous caught her eye. A literal giant in all white was but a bare ways from her and she found herself hopping over the log she had been resting against, ducking down to hide, hoping it didn't see her.

It seemed her luck held as it moved past her and to a pair not far away, a little thing and it's apparent mother. She took a deep breath of relief as the giant seemed to happily interact with them, though she did not take her eyes off of any of the lot.

They carried on and seemed to honestly be having a blast and she couldn't help the touch of jealousy at their joy. It had been a long, long time since she'd had such and she couldn't help but follow as they made their way further into the trees, to the sunnier part of the forest. The little one seemed thrilled with the giant and climbed all over before child and mother made their way off with much fanfare.

She was then left with the giant, who had made his way further along and settled in the sun, apparently quite comfortably. Her curiosity won over and she approached, very cautiously which led to a rather amusing back and forth between them, and some rather appalling lack of social control on her part.

She learned his name was Crescent, and that he was a god? She withheld judgement, because what did she know in this absolutely wild place. But he did provide one thing for her that assured, should it work, that she would be hell to get rid of.

A lovely white peony and something called a veil. Something that was supposed to protect her. She didn't know if she could trust it yet, but she was hopeful and willing to try. And then she found herself spilling all of her secrets to this behemoth, feeling oddly safe and comfortable in he presence. He reminded her so much of someone who had once meant the world to her... She found herself liking him more and more with every awkward step of their conversation. He was almost enchanting. At least she felt so. For once she felt like she may have made an actual friend. She hoped he stuck around, he was really starting to grow on her.

Perhaps she was glass. But glass is only brittle until it breaks. Then it's sharp.
