is one I have witnessed before.
With strength and valor
each step was taken
but alas it was not enough.
Another chance I am given
perhaps justly so,
and it is one that I shall take.






If you must know,

I am still so lost here. I truly do not understand how I should act around them. I-I do not understand them.

I want to understand them.

I want to.

Some more than others. She was antlered, strange for a doe, but kind. Friendly even. I didn't know how to react to her. I didn't know how to respond to the nuzzles, to curious encouragements to follow, but follow I did. She led me to a small patch of delicate purple flowers. Their scent was sweet, lulling the intricate flights of butterflies.

It has been so long since I could see and enjoy something so lovely as that tiny patch of flowers. I gladly accepted her encouragement to lay by her side among them. So peaceful here, so quiet as we lay watching others romp past.

The peace was soothing, drawing me into a lazy spiral of quiet pleasure. A comforting joy that must have played the part of allowing me to accept a suddenly offered romp among the trees. I am not one to prance and play as though a child. Those are days long since passed by for me, but as she rose and began to play, I followed.

I do not regret it. I only regret that my time here must end.
