In my head I picture someone

In my head I picture someone old and wise and gray.
The voice is strong despite his age, and deep, and it catches the fawn off-guard. Not mean, no.
Maybe the fawn hasn't seen him around before, maybe he is a ghost that wanders in the mist.
And the fawn turns to find him standing there, goes to ask something and returns to the scenery.
When there is no answer, the fawn looks back and the ghost stag is gone.
