After a Decade

It's actually been longer than that, but I'm surprised to see this game is just as lively as it was 13 years ago, and little to nothing has changed to my nostalgic glee.

I've created a brand new deer, his name is Senecio. His name is based on the hardened shrub known as Senecio Cineraria, also know as the Silver Dust plant or the Dusty Miller.

I've been sorting things out best I can within the community forum but deal with an avatar problem so far.

"File upload error. Could not move uploaded file."

But I'll figure that out.

All in all, I still love and enjoy this game and have developed a routine of playing it most every morning now. It's very relaxing and I look forward to my fawn growing up again and playing around with some others.

Additionally I would like to

Additionally I would like to express my intrigue that the developers honestly still care about this game, and regardless of however long since it's started, seeing a transformation to the Unreal Engine should be interesting to see.

Hello, welcome back. I hope

Hello, welcome back. I hope you enjoy your time both on the forums and in the game. I don't personally know why the forum gives you that error, but others might be able to give you quicker help if you join the tefc discord:

That's where the majority of the community activity goes on, although I myself prefer to lurk, and enjoy the game for the artistic aspect of it. Plus the occasional gameplay if I feel like.

Hello, glad to see another 'old' player coming back!
Unfortunately one can't upload an avatar now, the feature has been broken since last year, when the site was moved to a new server Sad
The users who have profile pics (like myself) had uploaded them before that happened.

Welcome back,

Welcome back, Gunmettle.

Interesting name choice, is there a particular symbolism to it?

The game is soothing, for sure. And the devs always cared. The last thing I recall, they had been paying out of their pocket for the game server when the players' donations weren't enough to cover the costs. (And they might be doing that, still. There's just no info on how much is donated by the players monthly, as far as I know )

Anyway, looking forward to meeting your deer inforest.
Think I danced with your fawn briefly some time ago, but I'm not sure, hah. Too many fawns, memory too poor.

What name are you giving

What name are you giving reference to?

Senecio Cineraria was a plant I looked up by choice with any associations to Silver. Silver is a loved metal of mine with much symbolism to the Moon and many other illusory dreams of haunting beauty and mysterious freedom, or light in the darkness. I wanted something related to a forest.

If you mean Gunmettle, that is my actual real name. I grew up without parents and I've no family or relatives to ask of it, so it's origins remain a mystery to me. I find nothing in research about it but an old couple once mentioned to me that it sounded German. My guess is that any symbolism it caters to is a Soldier.

In any event I look forward to much of the same; I'll see you in the forest.

I meant the deer name, but

I meant the deer name, but they're both good ones, thank you for sharing.
I like knowing the symbolism related to characters, it's the ultimate cheatcode in case it strikes me to draw them later. Gives me half of the cues to potentially work with.
